Sigrid

With a knack for creating confident, yet fragile, pop anthems, Sigrid Solbakk Raabe, known professionally as Sigrid, is a 24 year-old Norwegian singer-songwriter destined to make it big.

The youngest of three, Sigrid was immersed in music from the very start, having been born into a musical family. Childhood set the foundation for her career – learning guitar and piano from her family, and grew up listening to, and influenced by, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young.

Sigrid began her professional career in 2013, releasing her debut single, “Sun,” co-written with her older brother Tellef Raabe, who wanted to perform with her at a gig. The song became known as her national breakthrough in Norway.

In 2016, Sigrid signed with Island Records and released her debut single with the label in 2017, the empowerment anthem “Don’t Kill My Vibe,” which achieved international success. The success of the track, and its subsequent EP of the same name, catapulted her to the forefront of the pop music scene; capping off a breakthrough year by being named the 2018 winner of the BBC “Sound of…” poll, voted by British music critics and industry experts to find the most promising upcoming talent.

Her debut album Sucker Punch, which was released on March 8, 2019, received generally favorable reviews and was assigned a score of 77 on Metacritic.
